An interesting, yet small museum of Maeda Toshiie’s personal affects and documents superbly preserved. A nice small piece of history for those willing to learn more about one ofJapan’s rulers.

加賀藩祖前田利家、まつ夫人の次男利政が家祖。元々は七尾城22万石を有していたが、関ヶ原の戦いで、東軍の出兵要請に応じなかったことから京都に隠棲し寛永10年(1633)京没した。 その後は嫡男である2代直之より加賀藩「八家」のひとつとして藩政に尽力した。
