Forming part of Henry VIII's fortification programme, Deal Castle remains a popular centrepiece in the town of Deal. The castle (or Fort) albeit small does have a complex tunnel system below.

Central to a busier area and right near the beach. Go to Walmer Castle if you're looking for something a little more involved.

One of Henry VIII's 16th century coastal forts built to repel Catholic invasion. Huge imposing cannon bastions. Run by English heritage.

Been told it is not too exciting but found it very interesting, especially the tunnels. Wirth exploring!

Easy to get to from the station as the castle is in town. Lovely sea views and do not forget the tunnels.
