Be sure to go to the gift shop before your tour and buy the Yamazaki Selection which is only available at the distillery (but in short supply).

You can sample the five separate malts that are blended into Hibiki.

The distillery tour is great; the tasting afterwards is just as nice. Make sure to book way in advance and confirm the day before via website. There's a small museum, shop, & bar for more tastings.

Yamazaki distillery visit and they are OUT of Yamazaki!?! Come for tastings, not to purchase bottles.

The tasting room has dozens of whiskies, including rare and distillery-only. Most are around ¥500 for 15ml – although the Yamazaki 25 goes for ¥2900.

You won't get a chance to taste these whiskies at a better price anywhere else.
