Xagesh is wrong. IT IS actually named after Cuba. The original name of the square was "The square of Cuban revolution". It was renamed to Cuban square only in 1991 after the Velvet revolution.

There are no Cubans because the square is not named after Cuba, but after city of Kubáň in former USSR where one of great battles of WWII took place ;)
