Free to enter pier; nice once you get beyond noisy amusements to lengthy open air wooden pier ... walk carefully. Great views of coast and variety of birds sometimes perch on railngs. Decent bar.

Clacton Pier is a family place plenty for the children and it does what a lot of piers here in the UK do provide family entertainment. Money off vouchers re pier in information centres.
