In the Malay language, "bukit" means hill, "batok" means cough. One explanation was the cold air in the area that caused coughs and cold. Research online for 4 other possibilities. Source: Infopedia

There's a grumpy looking Chinese madam swinging her light saber at the platform train gates. Stay clear of the door, she's grouchy!

This station is considered the last stop to jurong east station. During peak hours. If boarding the train seems impossible. You may consider taking the train back up to Bukit Gombak. Then back down.

Bakery clears items at $1 per item relatively early, starting around knock-off time (6pm or so). Pretty good selection if you don't mind the mass-produced factory stuff.

There are Bakery / Ananas Cafe / Food Stores at the MRT. It opens after 9pm still, not bad for a late dinner. Ahem, Dabao and ready to go at least :)
