The only T station where you can futz around with giant instruments while you wait for your train...

Sadly, the Kendall Band is dead. The bar connecting the last remaining control lever to the sculptures - for Pythagoras on the outbound side -has not been there for at least 20 months at this writing.

Dirty and very crowded. A lot of people come around this area to work. Subway is always crowded.

The inbound platform has very informative tiles which cover MIT's rich history. Worth checking out as you wait for the next train.

I love how everything is so close by right when you get off the station. Restaurants every where and Red Cross within a walking distance. I take classes at Red Cross so it's super convenient.

Try the Kendall Band! Originally created by Paul Matisse, more recently repaired by MIT students. There's only one working lever, for Pythagoras (the bells), and it's on the outbound platform.

As of May 2013, there is full 4G cell coverage underground here (on AT&T).
